Meet the Team

Tom is one of the founding directors of BROKR, and his passion for lending has been a driving force behind the firm's rapid growth and success. He approaches everything with relentless dedication, from securing the best possible outcomes for his clients to tackling multi-day hikes and clocking up countless kilometres on weekend runs. If there's a goal worth pursuing, Tom is all in.

With extensive experience in both residential and commercial property, Tom has built a multi-million-dollar property portfolio of his own. His hands-on investing experience, combined with years of lending expertise, gives him a unique perspective on property finance and wealth creation, allowing him to help clients navigate opportunities with confidence and clarity.

When Tom isn’t in the office crunching numbers and exploring every available avenue for lending success, his pride and joy is his front lawn. His mates have affectionately dubbed him “Lawn Daddy,” and he devotes a concerning amount of his spare time ensuring his nature strip remains the lushest and greenest in the land. He also likes Nickelback… but there’s no judgement in the BROKR office.

If you’ve seen a BROKR ad that made you laugh, there’s a good chance Tom was behind it. He’s the creative force responsible for much of the BROKR brand, marketing and content. His middle name should probably be Spielberg. He’s also famously calm under pressure, it takes a lot to ruffle this birdie’s feathers. Trust us, we’ve tried.

Tom’s favourite travel destination is Finland, his mother’s birthplace, and Finnish was his first language. He has two fur-kids, Harrison and Harper, and if you’re strolling along the Sandgate waterfront, there’s a good chance you’ll spot the trio out and about.

James is the forefather of the BROKR establishment, bringing an absolute wealth of financial and banking knowledge and experience to the table. Having worked for several of the ‘big fours’ he identified a significant gap in the housing and commercial lending markets and, together with his son Tom, created a legacy of personalised, innovative and genuine lending opportunities.

He’s our commercial guru and, no matter the complexity, will help you find the best pathways to business success. His commitment to continued upskilling means he is across every government incentive, has a thorough understanding of market trends, and can provide accurate advice on what the future holds for business in Australia.

With a passion for adventure and exploration James is extensively travelled, Italy being his all-time favourite holiday spot. He’s been lovingly restoring a 1968 Sunbeam Alpine for… 20 years… But hey, you can’t rush perfection. He recently purchased a touring bike and is mapping out a trip to the Cape with his brother. He also loves to hang glide, with some of his best ideas coming to him as he’s soaring through the sky.

When James is done ‘spinning around’ finding you the best deal, he charges toward the end goal like a ‘locomotive’. Seriously, from the moment you make contact he ‘can’t get you out of his head’…

While Kylie is his all-time favourite, he’s also a Swedish House Mafia fan and rates Gladiator as one of the best films ever made.

Liam is an ex-teacher turned mortgage broker who brings his classroom skills into the finance world, breaking down the complex world of loans and mortgages into simple, digestible steps for his clients. Whether you’re a first-home buyer or a seasoned investor, Liam’s structured approach makes sure nothing is left to chance.

A fitness enthusiast at heart, Liam has completed marathons, tackled HYROX Pro challenges, and is a regular at the local parkrun on Saturdays. His next big goal? An Ironman, if only he could swim! When he’s not pounding the pavement or hitting the gym, you’ll find him at the recovery centre, braving ice baths and planning his next physical feat. He’s always up for a chat about fitness (or the latest running shoe reviews), so you know you’re in good hands when you talk shop with him.

Liam’s love for vintage motorbikes also keeps him busy. He’s restored a few classic VMX models and loves hitting the open road. While he’s explored Australia from coast to coast, his dream destination is Rome, Liam’s a bit of a history buff and can’t wait to immerse himself in its ancient ruins.

Before joining Brokr, Liam was both a classroom and P.E. teacher. Known as the "cool teacher," he loved creating fun and memorable lessons for his students. His knack for making learning enjoyable now helps his clients, as he takes the stress out of mortgages and makes the whole process easier to understand. His clients appreciate how he cuts through the jargon, leaving them feeling confident and empowered with their financial decisions.

At home, Liam is the proud owner of two sausage dogs, Willow and Winston, who definitely keep him on his toes. Whether he’s riding vintage motorbikes, planning his next fitness challenge, or helping clients achieve their property dreams, Liam is all about structure, fun, and getting things done.

Tina is an experienced lender who brings a wealth of lending knowledge and banking experience to the BROKR team. Having built an extensive career within the banking industry, Tina’s expertise, attention to detail, and genuine care for every client have quickly made her an integral part of the office.

Known for her caring nature and commitment to delivering the best possible experience, Tina takes the time to ensure every client feels supported throughout their loan journey. Her professionalism and dedication certainly don’t go unnoticed, with clients regularly appreciating the level of care and attention she brings to every application. Simply put — she genuinely cares.

Within the office, Tina is also well known for keeping the team fuelled with her amazing homemade sweet treats. She’s always willing to go the extra mile, often staying back overtime to make sure everything is completed properly — despite constantly being told it’s time to go home.

When she’s not in the office, Tina enjoys escaping the big smoke in the caravan with her family and making the most of a quiet weekend away.

Tina has quickly become an incredibly valued part of the BROKR team, bringing experience, warmth, and reliability to everything she does.

Ben is BROKR’s Settlements Officer and Onboarding Specialist, helping guide clients through both the beginning and final stages of the loan process with ease. Known for his warm and friendly customer service voice over the phone, Ben has a natural ability to make clients feel comfortable and supported every step of the way.

Whether he’s assisting new clients as they enter the process or coordinating settlements behind the scenes, Ben’s organisation and communication skills are second to none. After all, looking after two young boys has certainly helped him perfect the art of multitasking, patience, and keeping things running smoothly under pressure.

Ben is always on hand to help clients navigate the process, ensuring they feel informed, confident, and well looked after from start to finish. His caring approach and attention to detail make him an incredibly valued part of the BROKR team.

Outside of work, Ben is working hard to keep up with Tom in the running world, with hopes of one day beating him in an event… although Tom would probably say that’s unlikely. He’s also a huge football fan (and yes, it’s football — not soccer), often setting alarms at ridiculous hours of the morning to make sure he doesn’t miss a gooooaaaaal!

Ben brings energy, reliability, and plenty of laughs to the BROKR office, making him a key part of both the team and the client experience.

Chloe is an experienced Loan Writer and a key part of the BROKR team, known for her organisation, attention to detail, and ability to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes.

With 8 years of previous administration experience in the real estate industry, Chloe brings exceptional time management, communication skills, and a strong understanding of the client journey to every loan she works on. Her experience across marketing, client support, and loan processing gives her a well-rounded approach and allows her to support both clients and brokers throughout the entire process.

While Chloe may still get mistaken for being 16, she’s actually a proud mum to her daughter, Kaia. When she’s not in the office, she’s usually busy chasing after her energetic toddler.

Outside of work, Chloe is always up for a cheeky cocktail with the girls. As a dancer for 16 years, she has also proudly earned the title of BROKR office dancing queen.

Chloe has truly found her place at BROKR, helping organise the chaos while playing an integral role in the continued growth and success of the team.

Este is BROKR’s Onboarding Specialist, helping guide clients through the beginning stages of the finance process with confidence and ease. Known for his friendly approach and strong attention to detail, Este works closely with clients to ensure all onboarding requirements are completed accurately and efficiently.

Whether he's assisting clients with online fact finds, document collection, compliance requirements, or answering questions along the way, Este is committed to making the process as seamless as possible. His organisation and communication skills help keep applications moving smoothly while ensuring clients feel informed and supported throughout their journey. Este understands that applying for finance can sometimes feel overwhelming, which is why he takes pride in providing clear guidance and prompt support every step of the way. His proactive approach and willingness to help make him a valued member of the BROKR team.

Outside of work, Este enjoys exploring the outdoors through hiking, expressing his creativity through art, and singing whenever he gets the chance. He also loves travelling and discovering new places, always looking for new experiences and opportunities for personal growth. Este brings positivity, reliability, and a client-first mindset to BROKR, playing an important role in creating a great experience for both clients and brokers.

Nina joins the team as our Director of Operations, bringing with her extensive experience in business operations, management, and human resources. With a strong background in overseeing day-to-day business functions and creating efficient operational systems, Nina plays a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the organisation while supporting both staff and business growth.

Her qualifications and hands-on experience in HR and operations management have equipped her with a practical, people-focused approach to business. Nina is passionate about building positive workplace cultures, improving processes, and helping our team to provide outstanding service to our customers.

Outside of work, Nina enjoys staying active with regular gym sessions and early morning walks along the Gold Coast beaches. She’s passionate about living a healthy, non-toxic, organic-focused lifestyle and brings that same calm, balanced energy into the workplace. While the rest of us are surviving on coffee and takeaway, Nina is usually reminding us that water, sleep, and fresh air are apparently the real secret to success.
